STCC to offer evening phlebotomy for healthcare workers course in June

Springfield Technical Community College will offer an evening phlebotomy for healthcare workers course beginning June 10. The class will run 5 p.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Thursday, between June 10 and July 3. The 60-hour training, which is designed for individuals licensed in various medical fields, prepares students to take the exam to become a certified phlebotomist in Massachusetts.

STCC kicks off fundraising effort with dedication of PeoplesBank Conference Room

Launching a major fundraising initiative, Springfield Technical Community College dedicated the PeoplesBank Conference room in the Ira H. Rubenzahl Student Learning Commons. The dedication came after PeoplesBank, the largest community bank in Western Massachusetts, donated $50,000 to the STCC Foundation.

STCC announces ‘Flex Terms’ for fall 2019

Springfield Technical Community College this fall will offer two “flex terms” which allow students to begin and end classes on dates outside of the regular semester schedule. At seven weeks, the terms are half as long as the traditional 14-week semester. This means students can complete two courses in the time it takes to finish one traditional course.

Springfield Preservation Trust to Host Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony at STCC’s Student Learning Commons

The Springfield Preservation Trust on Tuesday, May 14, will host its Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony to honor individuals and organizations that help restore and preserve historic places in Springfield. The event, which is open to the public, will take place at 5 p.m. in the “Forum” at the Ira H. Rubenzahl Student Learning Commons at Springfield Technical Community College.

STCC wrestling program inspires student from Kentucky to follow his dream

Student Mike Clark moved from Kentucky to wrestle at STCC. After a disappointing start, he nearly gave up, but, encouraged by his coaches, stuck with it and ended up placing as an All-American wrestler.
