STCC wins best 2-year college in Valley Advocate reader poll

Springfield Technical Community College was named the best 2-year college in the Valley Advocate’s 2020 reader poll. The accolade comes only six months after STCC was named the best local college in the 2020 Reader Raves, presented by The Republican and MassLive. The college also made the 2019 Best 2-Year Colleges for Adult Learners list, published by Washington Monthly.

STCC wrestlers look back at championship season

STCC offers virtual art exhibit at Carberry Gallery

The Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery at Springfield Technical Community College is featuring a virtual tour of an exhibit by Florence artist Donnabelle Casis. Her artwork is on display through April 11, but the college has closed the gallery to the public due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.

STCC donates personal protective equipment to area hospitals

Responding to an urgent call for supplies, Springfield Technical Community College’s School of Health and Patient Simulation has donated personal protective equipment to area hospitals, medical centers and first responders. The equipment, which includes surgical masks, isolation gowns, surgical gowns, sterile surgical gloves, exam gloves and face shields, will serve as a first line of defense for health care professionals and reduce their risk of contracting COVID-19 while treating patients.

Stop & Shop responds to COVID-19 crisis with donation to help STCC students

Stop & Shop donated $2,500 to Springfield Technical Community College’s emergency food pantry for students in need. The supermarket company’s latest gift, a response to the threat the COVID-19 virus poses to economically disadvantaged students, adds to earlier donations.

STCC unveils Fire Investigation Transfer program

Starting this fall, the college will offer a new option in the Fire Protection and Safety Technology department: Fire Investigation Transfer. Students who choose this option will study fire behavior, fire operations, prevention, investigations and criminal law through courses in fire science and criminal justice.
