STCC virtual tea series to highlight women in leadership roles

Springfield Technical Community College will celebrate achievements by female leaders with a virtual tea series called “We the Women.” STCC will feature local speakers who will discuss their careers, accomplishments and the barriers they faced in a live video conferencing format. Viewers will have a chance to enjoy a cup of tea while watching the presentations and ask questions at the end.

STCC launched vibrant career for director of nursing program at UConn

STCC helped Carrie Eaton get started on a journey in a career in nursing. She began as a pediatric nurse, then became a labor and delivery nurse after giving birth to her first child. She ended up going back to college and earned a Ph.D. in nursing.

Springfield Technical Community College opened registration for summer and fall classes, offering hundreds of convenient and affordable options for currently enrolled and new students. Current STCC students have until April 20 to sign up for classes before registration opens to new students on April 21.

STCC respiratory care students helping at hospitals

Several respiratory care students from Springfield Technical Community College’s senior class are seeking limited permit licenses to help meet the demand to help patients during the coronavirus pandemic. Esther Perrelli Brookes, director and department chair of the Respiratory Care program, said three students from STCC already are working at Baystate Medical Center after applying for and receiving respiratory care limited permit licenses.

STCC wins best 2-year college in Valley Advocate reader poll

Springfield Technical Community College was named the best 2-year college in the Valley Advocate’s 2020 reader poll. The accolade comes only six months after STCC was named the best local college in the 2020 Reader Raves, presented by The Republican and MassLive. The college also made the 2019 Best 2-Year Colleges for Adult Learners list, published by Washington Monthly.

STCC offers virtual art exhibit at Carberry Gallery

The Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery at Springfield Technical Community College is featuring a virtual tour of an exhibit by Florence artist Donnabelle Casis. Her artwork is on display through April 11, but the college has closed the gallery to the public due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.
