Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, including boilers, chillers, air handling units/controls, and refrigeration equipment. This includes the ability to inspect, repair, and maintain equipment.
Training Options
- STCC On-Campus Credit Courses - The HVAC Program at STCC prepares individuals for employment in entry-level positions in the heating and air conditioning industry. Fundamentals of oil burner and air conditioning maintenance, repair, and installation are the focus of this program.

- STCC On-Campus Credit Courses - At STCC, the Mechanical Engineering Technology Dept. (MET) focuses on the practical application of engineering and scientific principles for the purpose of designing and manufacturing quality products, services, and systems. The majority of the MET’s training is centered around using today’s high-tech computer hardware and software. These computer skills are complemented with instruction in mathematics, science, and engineering analysis to provide the graduate with the sound foundation essential to implement design and manufacturing solutions.
