About the STCC Foundation
- What is the Springfield Technical Community College Foundation Inc.?
The Springfield Technical Community College Foundation (a 501-(c)-3 non-profit organization incorporated in 1981) exists to help Springfield Technical Community College meet its goals and commitment to provide superior educational opportunities in the community.
- How does donor support impact the College, Students, and Community?
Your investment in the Springfield Technical Community College Foundation will promote economic development and enhance the quality of life in our community. With your support, STCC can continue to provide state-of-the-art education, utilize industry-standard equipment, introduce innovative learning opportunities for all students, and ensure that all potential students have access to higher education.
- Why is the college seeking support?
Since its inception in 1967, the College has served as a major resource for the economic vitality of Western Massachusetts. The college serves over 5,000 students each year and provides over 80 degree options and career certificates. As we look to the future, the long-term economic development success of the region is dependent on our ability to take systematic steps to develop a globally competitive workforce. In order for the College to meet such challenges, we must turn to the private sector for support.
- Does the College have named donor recognition opportunities?
Yes. A variety of named gift and endowment opportunities (to recognize an individual, corporation, or organization) are available. These include naming opportunities for buildings, academic programs, scholarships, and endowments. Gifts may be designated for immediate needs or for endowments. The Foundation Office can assist donors who have specific interests.
- Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes, the STCC Foundation is an IRS-approved 501 (c ) (3) non-profit organization. All qualifying contributions are tax deductible.
- Will the Foundation accept multi-year pledges?
Yes. Multi-year pledges (up to five years) enable investors to make more significant investments while realizing optimal tax savings than might be possible with one-time cash gifts. The pledge option also provides investors more time to create endowed funds that will leave a permanent legacy.
- Will the Foundation accept anonymous gifts?
Yes. If you wish your gift to remain anonymous, the STCC Foundation and College will honor your request.
- Can I help in ways other than pledges or cash?
Yes, we have included a
Ways to Give
insert that provides other types of investing opportunities including planned giving. - Can I designate my gifts for a particular purpose?
Yes. Indicate the area you want to direct your gift on the pledge card. For named gifts of $5,000 or more, donors can collaborate with the Foundation Director to determine specific donor directions.
- Can I make a planned gift?
The STCC Foundation Legacy Society encourages alumni, faculty, friends, and neighbors to consider including the College in their estate plans. Planned giving offers many vehicles for tax-wise gifts, including those that offer life income. For more information on planned giving please contact the Foundation office at 413-755-4529.
- How will investors be recognized?
All donors will be recognized listed on the STCC Foundation's Donor Giving Web Page and thanked at our annual donor recognition event. Specific gift amounts will not be included; however, names will be listed by giving ranges. Named endowment funds provide a perpetual recognition opportunity.
