COVID-19 Financial Assistance
Reporting Requirements for Student Portion of the CARES Act Emergency Relief Fund
The Department of Education has released the following reporting guidelines for institutions that have received the student portion of their Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) allocation, which will be used to make emergency grants to students. Springfield Technical Community College acknowledges that they have signed and returned the certification and agreement form and that this institution has used, or intends to use the funds to provide the mandated amount of at least 50% of the emergency financial aid grants to students. The allocation that STCC received was $3,845,054, of two separate awards of $1,922,527 (student portion) and $1,922,527 (institutional portion).

- Final cumulative number of students - 4,137 (unduplicated)
Spring 2020
- A total of $997,426 were distributed to STCC students.
- Approximately 2,803 students at this institution may be eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and therefore eligible to receive an emergency financial aid grant.
- 2,767 students have received an emergency financial aid grant.
- STCC used estimated costs of $350 associated with increased electricity and internet costs that its students may have incurred when switched to a remote learning environment as a result of the STCC campus shutting down during the Spring 2020 semester due to COVID-19 for students that met Title IV eligibility criteria. STCC is continuing to fund students for specific costs they are submitting using our CARES Act request form.
Fall 2020
- A total of $875,303.00 were distributed to STCC students.
- Approximately 2,920 students at this institution may be eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and therefore eligible to receive an emergency financial aid grant.
- 2,791 students have received an emergency financial aid grant.
- STCC used estimated costs of $300 associated with increased electricity and internet costs that its students may have incurred when switched to a remote learning environment as a result of the STCC campus shutting down during the Spring 2020 semester due to COVID-19 for students that met Title IV eligibility criteria. STCC is continuing to fund students for specific costs they are submitting using our CARES Act request form.

The Department of Education has released the following reporting guidelines for institutions that have received the student portion of their Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) allocation, which will be used to make emergency grants to students. Springfield Technical Community College acknowledges that they have signed and returned the certification and agreement form and that this institution has used, or intends to use the funds to provide the mandated amount of at least 50% of the emergency financial aid grants to students. The student portion of the allocation that STCC received was $1,922,527.

The Department of Education has released the following reporting guidelines for institutions that have received the student portion of their Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) allocation, which will be used to make emergency grants to students. Springfield Technical Community College acknowledges that they have signed and returned the certification and agreement form and that this institution has used, or intends to use the funds to provide the mandated amount of at least 50% of the emergency financial aid grants to students. The student portion of the allocation that STCC received was $7,082,183.

The Department of Education has released the following reporting guidelines for institutions that have received the student portion of their Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) allocation, which will be used to make emergency grants to students. Springfield Technical Community College acknowledges that they have signed and returned the certification and agreement form and that this institution has used, or intends to use the funds to provide the mandated amount of at least 50% of the emergency financial aid grants to students. The allocation that STCC received in the Supplemental Financial Support Grant was $2,036,494.
