President's Message

President Cook standing with hands in pockets

Allow me to offer a warm and enthusiastic welcome to Springfield Technical Community College.

In our 58th year, we celebrate our vital mission of helping students transform their lives. The college remains a special and unique institution in Western Massachusetts, with exceptional programs that matter to students, families, communities, alumni, and employers. We continue to be a leader in many areas that include allied health, manufacturing, engineering, and cyber/information technology. With our status as the only technical community college in Massachusetts, we offer a truly unique array of programs including seamless and affordable transfer opportunities.

A comprehensive institution that includes the Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery and the only Head Start program on a college campus in Western Massachusetts, I invite you to learn more about how our dedicated faculty and staff care and invest in our comprehensive support of students. Whether you are new to the college, a parent or partner, a proud alum, or an invested community member, we encourage you to learn more about MassReconnect/MassEducate, the free community college initiative for Massachusetts residents that is having a profound impact on the only public institution in Massachusetts with two middle names.

As a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution; as a collaborator with area employers; as a partner with our sister institutions; and as the only community college in the Commonwealth co-located with the National Park Service, we are excited for our collective work leading the educational ecosystem.

Sincerely,
John B. Cook, Ph.D.
President
