Training & Workforce Options at STCC to host 2 employer forums
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Training & Workforce Options (TWO), the collaboration between Springfield Technical Community College and Holyoke Community College, will host two employer engagement forums – one focusing on the manufacturing industry on Wednesday, March 29, and another focusing on the long-term healthcare field on April 4.
The forums are designed to assess regional workforce needs and training opportunities and compile direct input from businesses regarding their technology and workforce needs. Employers also can hear about funding options for projects through the Workforce Training Fund.
Information from the forums will allow the Training & Workforce Options team to custom-design programs that fit employers’ needs and make measurable differences to their bottom line.
Area employers are invited to attend the forums, which will be held at Scibelli Hall (Building 2), 7th Floor.
The Manufacturing Exchange is scheduled for March 29, 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Employers representing multiple manufacturing sectors will be in attendance. They include: Regional Employment Board of Hampden County, Inc., Super Brush LLC, Callaway Golf, Peerless Precision Co., and Smith & Wesson.
The Healthcare Forum will take place April 4, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Employers representing JGS Lifecare, Baystate Home Health, Porchlight VNA/Home Care, O’Connell Care at Home, Spectrum Home Health & Hospice, Loomis Communities, Mercy Medical Center, Life Care Center of Wilbraham and more will participate in an interactive discussion on the state of the workforce.
