STCC to offer online Winter Session starting Dec. 21
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield Technical Community College will once again offer its popular four-week online Winter Session with classes starting Friday, Dec. 21, through Thursday, Jan. 17. Winter session classes are the perfect opportunity for area college students to earn college credit during the traditional winter break period.
“The majority of classes available during winter session can be used as electives at both community colleges and four-year colleges and universities,” STCC Dean of Academic Initiatives Matthew Gravel said. “The online format reduces the need to cancel classes for weather conditions and allows students the flexibility to study on their own schedule during their 'downtime.' This year, we've added a number of courses to our winter offerings, including Medical Terminology 1, Statistics, Women in Literature, Survey of U.S. History and Government, American Government and Politics, Music Appreciation and Lifespan Human Growth and Development."
Winter session class offerings also include: Basic Keyboarding, Computer Basics, Business Ethics, Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, English Composition I and II, General Psychology, Principles of Normal/Abnormal Behavior, Introduction to Sociology, Nutrition, Survey of Modern U.S. History, and World Religions. Students can register for winter classes beginning Nov. 26.
Registration is available online at www.stcc.edu/winter, via phone at (413) 755-4321, or in the Registrar’s Office/Garvey Hall South/First Floor.
