STCC to offer conversational Spanish class this spring
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The World Languages Department at Springfield Technical Community College is offering a conversational Spanish class during the spring 2017 semester on Wednesdays 4:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
This class will be geared toward those entering a field or employed in a position where being able to understand and use basic Spanish would be useful (for example, those in medical fields, police, and/or firefighters), but anyone who wants to practice speaking Spanish is welcome.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who has taken Spanish, but has difficulty actually using it.Jean Zenor, professor for the course
Jean Zenor, chairperson of World Languages and the professor for the course, said, “This is a great opportunity for anyone who has taken Spanish, but has difficulty actually using it. I plan to try and customize the class to serve the needs and interests of my students. Basic grammar and vocabulary will be covered as necessary in order to effectively communicate, but most of the class will be student-centered speaking and listening.”
The prerequisite is one semester of college Spanish, or its equivalent, or permission of the instructor.
You may register for this class (SPN 111–E61 Conversational Spanish) or any other classes at STCC online at www.stcc.edu/explore/register/, by phone at 413-755-4321 or in person (Registrar’s Office, Garvey Hall South, First Floor).
Spring semester classes begin Monday, Jan. 23.
