STCC remembers City Councilor E. Henry Twiggs
On Nov. 21, the city of Springfield and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts lost a lifelong advocate for justice and equality, City Councilor E. Henry Twiggs. Councilor Twiggs touched the lives of many STCC students, staff and faculty. The STCC community expresses their sincerest condolences to the family of Councilor Twiggs. May he rest in peace.
The Twiggs family has scheduled his funeral and visitation hours for Monday and Tuesday this week.
Visitation is set for 2-4 p.m. and again from 7-9 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2 at St. John’s Congregational Church at 45 Hancock St. in Springfield. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, also at St. John’s Congregational Church.
Twiggs is survived by his wife, Karen R. Twiggs, his sister Laverne Sparkman of Florida, daughter Cynthia Frazier Twiggs of North Charleston, South Carolina, son Antonio L. Delesine, daughter Dawana S. Twiggs of Fairfield, Alabama, and daughter Sonia Twiggs Richards of Cartersville, Georgia.
