STCC offers new class Introduction to Blueprints for Construction
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield Technical Community College will offer a new class, Introduction to Blueprints for Construction, beginning in November.
The non-credit course, which starts Nov. 29, will be held each Tuesday for four weeks.
Students will receive 12 hours of instruction from an assistant professor in the STCC Architectural and Building Technology Program. The professor has more than 16 years’ experience producing blueprints for residential and commercial projects. She holds a Construction Supervisor’s License and owns a construction company.
Classes will be held Nov. 29, Dec. 6, 13 and 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The $225 course fee includes books and materials. For more information and to enroll, visit the Introduction to Blueprints for Construction section of the STCC website.
According to the course description, students will discuss blueprints, their purpose, the meaning of the many symbols and how the various building trades use this particular drawing as instructions for building houses and commercial buildings.
The course will be particularly helpful for people who are working in the construction industry, looking to enter the construction industry, or who are engineers or architects who do not have experience with blueprints.
