STCC offers accelerated CNC mill training classes in January
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield Technical Community College in January will offer accelerated 5 axis CNC mill training.
The course, which runs Jan. 7, 8 and 9, consists of 24 classroom hours. Classes are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., with a 30-minute break for lunch.
STCC’s Workforce Development Center will offer the applied training course, which encompasses everything students need to know to make their first part on a five-axis computer numerical control (CNC) mill.
The class is taught in a lab located in Springfield Technology Park across from the STCC campus.
Training highlights include:
- Hands-on machine setup (fixtures, tooling and more)
- An opportunity to cut example parts on a Haas VF2 with a trunnion table
- Vericut machine simulation with collision detection
- Overview of longhand CNC programming and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming
A certificate of completion will be provided.
