STCC graduate named to BusinessWest’s ‘40 Under Forty’ list
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Dan Holmes, a Springfield Technical Community College graduate, was named one of BusinessWest’s “40 Under Forty,” a list of young, up-and-coming leaders in the community.
Holmes, 37, who graduated from STCC in 2003, works as senior project manager for Tighe & Bond, an engineering and environmental consulting business in Westfield.
According to BusinessWest, “Since starting with Tighe & Bond in 2007, Holmes has worked with a diverse team of engineers to develop solutions for wastewater, drinking water, transportation, and site projects. In 2019, he successfully managed seven construction projects throughout the state with a total construction value of nearly $11 million.”
Holmes earned a degree in civil engineering from STCC. He told BusinessWest he didn’t want to be a civil engineer when he was a youngster, but grew interested after taking a drafting class in high school. He started at STCC in the architectural design program, but transferred to civil engineering technology.
BusinessWest started the 40 Under Forty program in 2007 to honor young professionals in Western Massachusetts for their career achievements and their service to the community.
The recipients are scheduled to be honored at a reception on Aug. 27 at The Log Cabin in Holyoke.
