STCC announces no-spectator policy for indoor sporting events
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – In accordance with the decision of the NJCAA Region XXI, the Springfield Technical Community College Athletic Department will implement a no-spectator policy for indoor sporting events until further notice.
Only players, coaches, trainers, officials and essential personnel will be permitted in the gymnasium area, said Jenkin Gould, director, Athletics and Fitness at STCC.
STCC men's and women's basketball teams compete in the NJCAA. Men's and women's wrestling events will also comply with this policy.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience, but Region XXI feels this is a necessary step to mitigate the spread of COVID in our communities. This policy will be updated as needed as our situation changes,” Gould said.
