STCC announces new leader for Workforce Development Center
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield Technical Community College announces the appointment of David Buonora as assistant vice president for the Workforce Development Center, effective Feb. 17.
Buonora, of Enfield, Conn., comes to STCC from WorkSource Montgomery in Maryland, where he was chief operating officer.
He brings extensive experience in community colleges to his new role at STCC. Buonora was a senior legislative associate for the American Association of Community Colleges from 1994 to 2000. He was the director of government affairs and resource development at Howard Community College in Columbia, Md., from 2000 to 2008.
Buonora worked at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland from 2010-2017 as assistant vice president of workforce development and continuing education. In March 2017, he became chief of staff at WorkSource Montgomery and later assumed the position of chief operating officer.
Buonora holds an Ed.D. in higher education administration from Northeastern University, a Master of Public Administration from George Mason University as well as a bachelor of arts in political science from American University.
STCC’s Workforce Development Center's non-credit programs and classes meet the ever-changing technology and workforce demands of individuals, business and industry in the region. The center’s mission is to offer programs and classes that will lead to employment.
