Instant Accept Days Begin at STCC Jan. 2

Planning on applying to Springfield Technical Community College for the spring semester? Beginning Jan. 2, the college will instantly accept prospective students who bring their official high school transcripts, GED or HiSET certification to the Admissions Office in the Student Learning Commons, Building 19, first floor. No appointment is necessary.

Dealer school open house set for Dec. 27

The Massachusetts Casino Career Training Institute (MCCTI) and MGM Springfield will co-host two Open House Sessions on Dec. 27 for people considering enrolling in upcoming blackjack or poker dealer classes. Both classes start Jan. 7 and are the gateway into a full- or par- time employment in the casino dealer industry.

STCC announces Late Registration for spring semester enrollment

Springfield Technical Community College will hold Spring Semester Late Registration Week Jan. 14-18. Classes begin Jan. 22. Late Registration Week is a time when prospective students may apply to a program, meet with an advisor, select and register for courses, pay their bill and receive their schedule in one easy visit, said Dean of Admissions Louisa Davis-Freeman. Many programs are still accepting applicants.

STCC facilities workers awarded certificates at State House ceremony

Four Springfield Technical Community College facilities workers recently earned certificates after completing safety and new technology training session webinars which prepare them to maintain and repair state-of-the-art heating and air conditioning systems. The certificates were awarded to HVAC department workers Gilbert Ocasio, utility plant operator, and HVAC refrigeration mechanics Zosimo Torres, Andrew Durand and Stephen Grader.

STCC students complete blanket project to help Ronald McDonald House of Springfield

Springfield Technical Community College students delivered over two dozen fleece blankets that will help children and families at the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield. Members of the Student Ambassador Program at STCC volunteered their time to create no-sew blankets. They cut thin strips around the perimeter of the blankets and then tied the strips together in knots, creating a decorative fringe.
