Edward McLeavy ended up as one of three winners of the 16th annual Live Elevator Pitch Competition. His business idea is called “E-Z Salter,” which he describes as a fun and convenient tool for salting driveways and walkways. He and the other two winners received $750.

STCC students collaborate on motorcycle parking project

Students from two different classes and majors at Springfield Technical Community College helped pave the way for a new motorcycle parking area on campus. Students in classes taught by professors Beth McGinnis-Cavanaugh and Cynthia DeSellier collaborated with the STCC Facilities Department on the project.

STCC to offer evening phlebotomy for healthcare workers course in June

Springfield Technical Community College will offer an evening phlebotomy for healthcare workers course beginning June 10. The class will run 5 p.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Thursday, between June 10 and July 3. The 60-hour training, which is designed for individuals licensed in various medical fields, prepares students to take the exam to become a certified phlebotomist in Massachusetts.

STCC kicks off fundraising effort with dedication of PeoplesBank Conference Room

Launching a major fundraising initiative, Springfield Technical Community College dedicated the PeoplesBank Conference room in the Ira H. Rubenzahl Student Learning Commons. The dedication came after PeoplesBank, the largest community bank in Western Massachusetts, donated $50,000 to the STCC Foundation.

STCC announces ‘Flex Terms’ for fall 2019

Springfield Technical Community College this fall will offer two “flex terms” which allow students to begin and end classes on dates outside of the regular semester schedule. At seven weeks, the terms are half as long as the traditional 14-week semester. This means students can complete two courses in the time it takes to finish one traditional course.
