STCC receives $55,000 from Community Foundation of Western Mass

Springfield Technical Community College received two grants worth $55,000 from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts. A $30,000 Flexible Funding Grant awarded to the STCC Foundation will be used to boost the student empowerment fund, which was created as a resource for students facing a variety of barriers standing in the way of their ability to complete their education.

STCC student leads collection drive for Afghan refugees

When she heard the news about Afghan refugees arriving in Western Massachusetts, Springfield Technical Community College student Aminah Bergeron decided to take action. Bergeron, vice president of the Student Government Association at STCC, brainstormed with fellow students ways to help the refugees. They agreed to organize a donation drive to collect necessities for newly arrived families

‘Dementia experience’ offers empathy lesson for STCC students

STCC Computer Information Technologies degree creates opportunity after job loss

Robert Goetting had an exciting career in publishing where he worked on popular books such as “Harry Potter” and the “Twilight” series, among other bestsellers. But due to changes in the industry, his work was outsourced. He lost his job as a book designer, editor and proofreader and started thinking about a new career.

The research identifies 18 top programs in the nation based on flexibility, faculty, course strength, cost and reputation. Intelligent.com, a resource for online/on-campus program rankings and higher education planning, singled out STCC as having the best photography program.

Alumna returns to STCC to help students succeed

When she was enrolled at Springfield Technical Community College, Karolyn Burgos Toribio believed in getting involved and helping fellow students thrive. She started a club for Black and Hispanic female students. She also served as student trustee, a key leadership role. She used to stroll around the campus green with a fellow student who is now her husband, Malachi Vivenzio. Burgos Toribio expresses nothing but warm memories of STCC.
