Classes start March 22 for STCC spring semester ‘flex term’

For those who need flexibility when taking classes, Springfield Technical Community College offers a spring semester flex term that allows students to begin the semester later than the usual start time in January. The seven-week “flex term” for spring 2022 runs March 22 through May 13. The term is half as long as the traditional 14-week semester. This means students can complete two courses in the time it takes to finish one traditional course.

STCC inspired entrepreneurial spirit for Dave Brinnel, a television producer and entertainer

Dave Brinnel, an entertainer and owner of Dave's Creative, graduated with a degree in Teleproduction and Multimedia Technology in 1982. STCC offers opportunities to receive a two-year degree, or one-year certificates. Students can enter the workforce or train for better positions after graduating, or transfer to four-year universities and colleges.

Dual enrollment program at STCC helps student get accepted to Caltech

Tigist Dawit Terefe enrolled in “College Now,” the dual enrollment program at STCC that allows Springfield High School students to apply to enroll in one free STCC credit course per semester. Dual enrollment not only helped her increase her course load, but it gave her free college credits. She completed a course in general psychology. She will attend the prestigious California Institute of Technology in the fall of 2022.
