Adjunct Instructor, Developmental Reading.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in Reading or related degree and experience; college teaching experience preferred.   The successful candidate will teach one or two sections of developmental reading, depending on Fall 2008 enrollment. Candidates with experience and demonstrated creativity in the use of contemporary approaches to teaching are encouraged to apply.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching courses as assigned by the Division Dean. Morning or afternoon courses may be assigned. Course availability is dependent on Fall 2008 enrollment.

Director of Facilities

GENERAL STATEMENT & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and repair, construction, renovation of the physical plant of the College including, but not limited to the central heating/cooling plant, trades, custodial and grounds operations.  Manages and directs the College’s facilities and staff as necessary to provide a well maintained and dependable learning environment in support of the College’s mission of providing an excellent student education.  Ensure proper management and supervision of the Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering or related field with five to seven years of demonstrated  knowledge of facilities management/ physical plant operations and a minimum of two years direct supervisory experience in facilities maintenance operations

Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports; bid specifications, business correspondence and procedure manuals. 

Must be able to effectively present information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.  Ability to strategically plan and articulate vision.  Ability to make presentations to professionals. Candidate must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.

Assistant Professor, Dental Hygiene

GENERAL STATEMENT & RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach Dental Hygiene and related courses and supervise selected campus labs and clinical experiences. Provide academic advisement for potential and current students. Participate in recruitment activities. Maintain records related to the Program. Assist, in all aspects, the Program Chair in the operation of the Program. Other responsibilities may be assigned in accordance with the MCCC/MTA agreement. Reports to the Dean, School of Health. QUALIFICATIONS: Holds certification in Dental Hygiene. Qualified candidate must have Massachusetts license in dental hygiene and a Masters Degree. (Dental Hygiene Education preferred.) Certificate in local anesthesia preferred. Two (2) years experience in Dental Hygiene field required with three (3) or more years of clinical experience preferred. Teaching skills (Minimum of two (2) years full-time teaching experience or equivalent (college level preferred). Initial and continued employment dependent upon meeting CORI/SORI and medical requirements. Candidate must be able to work in a diverse college setting.

SALARY: $40,262 - $50,000 per annum plus fringe benefits, state-funded position. This salary is for the academic year (160 days). Pending State Funding

Academic Advisor -Part-time (Two positions)

GENERAL STATEMENT & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Academic Advisor will be responsible for working with incoming students to develop Individualized Success Plan's (ISP's) based on entering academic assessment and student career goals. Some evenings and weekend hours required. This position is for 18.5 hours per week.

Conducts career exploration and goal clarification activities with individuals and groups. Provides academic advising and course scheduling assistance to students to support student academic success. Develops linkages with tutorial and support services to facilitate student academic success.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree required, Master’s degree preferred in education, counseling or related discipline. Demonstrated experience in proactive advising and career counseling. Experience as postsecondary faculty or student services staff preferred. Candidate must be able to work in a diverse college setting.

SALARY: $25.00 hourly, no benefits.
